Art Jewelry Magazine

This magazine is one of the newest resources for metalsmiths, but is very comprehensive. They cover a wide range of topics and skill levels in each magazine, so that beginners and experts alike learn something new and inspiring.

Rio Grande

This company is widely known for their well-stocked warehouses. I've found that what little they don't carry, they'll generally know where to find. All the members of the staff I've talk to are extremely helpful, but their Technical staff is phenomenal in their expertise.

Society for North American Goldsmiths

SNAG has long been a wonderful place to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, and interact with other like minded individuals in the metalsmithing field.

Ganoksin

This site was started as an on-line experiment to explore modern methods of practical problem solving and information trading for the modern jeweler. I've found their forums and archives cover a broad range of topics.

Small Business

Yahoo Advertising Google Advertising

Both of these sites are wonderful for getting the word out about your business without breaking the bank.

Small Business Association

A rich wealth of resources for anyone starting or running a small business

IRS

The IRS is actually very helpful in setting up a small business the right way. Their website has step-by-step instructions for keeping all of the required federal paperwork that's necessary to run a business.

E-How

This website has so much information on everything from creating inventories, to making your own display stands, I can't recommend it enough!

In September, I was a juried artist at the Zona Rosa Art Festival 2009, where I was able to meet quite a few of the area's art patrons. I had alot of fun at my first Art Festival, and was lucky enough to be voted the People's Choice Award! Thank you to all who attended and made this festival such a pleasure.

I have found a wonderful beginning metalsmith across the pond. She runs Elel Jewelry, and I think shows a great design sense in her jewelry. You can see my favorite piece below, and then go check out her site here or on etsy.

Also in April, I was featured in Present Magazine, an on-line magazine devoted to artistic happenings of the Kansas City area. You can view the article, here

In April, I donated several items of jewelry to help raise funds for HELP humane society of Belton, MO. This shelter has a no-kill policy and if you would like to help, please contact them here.
